After a gap of nearly 40 years without lifting a paintbrush, my interest was rekindled by Martin Greenland’s oil painting classes. He has helped me to develop my skills, particularly in landscape painting. My main inspiration has been the natural beauty and built heritage of Silverdale and the Lake District.

On retiring from my job as a town planner, I joined the Silverdale Art Group with the intention of expanding my work into different media and topics. Projects during lockdown have helped me start to do this.
